Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang to Visit Nepal

Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang is set to visit Nepal at the invitation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, with preparations underway for his arrival.
According to government sources, the visit is expected to take place in the second half of February (Falgun) and will include the inauguration of a major infrastructure project constructed by a Chinese contractor in Nepal. However, officials have yet to finalize the specific project, as most are still under construction. The Tokha-Chhahare tunnel route is one of the potential projects that could be completed in time for the visit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already conducted three rounds of discussions with various agencies to facilitate the visit. Additionally, the Prime Minister’s Office has informally instructed security agencies to make necessary arrangements.
Prime Minister Oli had extended the invitation to Li Qiang during his visit to China in December, expressing enthusiasm for strengthening Nepal-China relations. Once the project selection is finalized, the exact date of Prime Minister Qiang’s visit will be officially announced.
