Chitralekha Yadav Appointed Nepali Ambassador to Australia
President Ramchandra Paudel has appointed Chitralekha Yadav as Nepal’s Resident Ambassador to Australia. The appointment was made on the recommendation of the Government of Nepal and the Council of Ministers, as confirmed by Shailaja Regmi Bhattarai, the Spokesperson for the Office of the President.
Yadav, a seasoned politician, brings extensive experience to the role. She previously served as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) and held ministerial positions in various cabinets.
The appointment aligns with Article 282 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal 2072 BS, which empowers the President to appoint ambassadors upon the recommendation of the government.
Yadav’s diplomatic responsibilities in Australia will include strengthening bilateral relations, promoting Nepal’s interests, and enhancing cooperation in trade, education, and tourism.
Her appointment marks a significant moment as she transitions from a distinguished political career to representing Nepal on the international stage.
