Cholera Cases Surge in Nepal: 38 Infected in Lalitpur District Alone

The number of cholera patients in Nepal has seen a significant rise, with 38 cases reported in Lalitpur district alone. According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division under the Ministry of Health and Population, the total number of cholera cases across the country has reached 50 as of Tuesday.

In addition to Lalitpur, two cases have been confirmed in Kathmandu district, eight in Kailali, and two more in Pyuthan district, signaling a concerning spread of the disease.

In response to the outbreak, rapid response teams have been deployed to the affected areas in collaboration with provincial and local governments. These teams are actively screening for patients and monitoring individuals who have been in close contact with those infected, aiming to contain the spread of cholera and provide necessary medical assistance.

The health authorities are urging the public to maintain proper hygiene and seek immediate medical attention if they experience symptoms of cholera, such as severe diarrhea and dehydration, to prevent further escalation of the outbreak.
