CIAA Files Corruption Case Against Nine in Sarlahi Road Construction Scam

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against nine individuals, including the chief administrative officer of Dhankaul Rural Municipality in Sarlahi, over irregularities in the construction of an agricultural road.

The case, registered at the Special Court, names chief administrative officer Krishnamohan Prasad Sah, engineer Upendra Prasad Sah, assistant Mohammad Rafiq, and sub-engineer Sashinjan Kumar Singh among the primary accused. The CIAA has demanded the recovery of Rs 779,000 from the group.

According to CIAA spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Paudel, others implicated in the case include the local-level accountant, and the chairman, secretary, and treasurer of the consumer committee responsible for overseeing the road project.

The anti-graft body alleges misuse of public funds and procedural violations in the project’s execution. Investigations are ongoing.
