Clear Skies Across the Country with Potential Snowfall in Himalayan Regions
Kathmandu, Dec 16: The Weather Forecast Division has issued an update indicating generally clear weather prevailing across the nation, with the possibility of light snowfall in specific high hilly and Himalayan areas of Karnali, Gandaki, and Koshi regions. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions to mitigate the effects of the cold weather.
The department reported a partial effect of the western wind over the country. Currently, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, including the mountainous regions, are experiencing partly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country enjoys clear skies. Some lowland areas are covered with fog and mist.
According to the division’s forecast, the weather is expected to be generally clear in the hilly areas, including Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the remaining regions will have clear weather this afternoon. The division anticipates the possibility of light snowfall occurring in one or two locations in Karnali and Gandaki regions.
In the hilly regions, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy during the night, while the rest of the country will experience generally clear conditions. There is a chance of light snowfall in specific high hilly and Himalayan areas of the Koshi province.
Looking ahead to Sunday, the division predicts generally clear weather in the hilly areas, including Lumbini province, while the rest of the country will continue to experience clear conditions. During the night, the weather is expected to be generally clear in the hilly areas, including the Lumbini region. The division also indicates the potential for light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of the Gandaki province, enhancing the winter ambiance in these regions.
