‘Committee Formed to Explore PPP Model for New International Airports’

Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, announced the formation of a committee to study the operation of new international airports under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. Speaking at a program in Beleka municipality, Minister Kirati emphasized the importance of new international airports to achieve the goal of attracting 3.5 million foreign tourists within a decade.
Highlighting the successful achievement of bringing in one million foreign tourists in 2023, Minister Kirati stressed the necessity of amending the tourism Act to further develop the country’s tourism sector. He revealed that a draft of the tourism policy has been forwarded to the Finance Ministry for consideration.
