Cooperative Sector Reform Suggestion Taskforce submits report to PM Prachanda
The Cooperative Sector Reform Suggestion Taskforce has submitted its report.
The task force submitted its report to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today, said the Secretary at the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Gokarna Mani Duwadi.
A cabinet meeting held on May 9 formed the Cooperative Sector Reform Suggestion Taskforce under the coordination of National Planning Commission member, Dr Jaykant Raut, approving the concept paper of Cooperative Sector Reform Taskforce, 2080.
The task force submitted the report to the government along with measures for the solution of the problems seen in the cooperative sector after identifying them.
Duwadi shared that the task force has suggested to the government to bring some plans in order to give immediate relief to victims of the cooperative.
Similarly, it also gave suggestions to the government to take the initiative to resolve problems of the cooperative sector by making some legal reforms. “The report has short-term, mid-term and long-term suggestions,” he mentioned.
Receiving the report, Prime Minister Prachanda directed the bodies concerned to take the initiative in order to resolve the problems of the cooperative sector, and to formulate necessary policy for the long-term solution of the problems, said Secretary Duwadi.
