Country experiencing rainfall due to influence of westerly low pressure system

The country is now experiencing cloudy weather and rainfall due to the influence of Westerly’s low-pressure system coupled with the local wind.

Meteorologist at the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Rojan Lamichhane, said rainfall is now taking place at some places in Sudurpaschim Province, Gandaki Province and Koshi Province.

Light rainfall has been predicted in Kathmandu Valley in the afternoon. Rainfall is now taking place due to pre-monsoon activities and the influence of the Westerly low-pressure system accompanied by the local wind.

The sky of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province has remained generally cloudy while there is a possibility of light rainfall with thunder and lightning in some places of hilly areas today.

The same type of weather system will persist in the night. There is a possibility of thunderstorms in Tarai areas, according to the Division.
