Court Orders 7-Day Detention for Bechan Jha in Fake Bhutanese Refugees Case

The Kathmandu District Court has ordered Bechan Jha to be detained for seven days to facilitate further investigation into the fake Bhutanese refugees case.
Jha, who was apprehended on Friday, was presented to the court on Sunday seeking an extension of his custody.
A Special Bureau of Police team arrested Jha in India and handed him over to the District Police Complex in Kathmandu on Friday.
The court’s decision allows police to continue their investigation while keeping Jha in custody for the next seven days.
