CPN (UML) Appoints Guru Baral as Vice Chair and Makes Several Key Nominations

The CPN (UML) has decided to nominate Guru Baral to the vacant post of Vice Chair of the party. UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel shared that the UML Secretariat meeting held today decided to nominate standing committee member Baral as the Vice Chair. The post was vacant following the death of the then Vice Chair, Subhas Chandra Nembang.

Additionally, the party has decided to nominate Mukunda Neupane and Leelanath Shrestha to the standing committee. General Secretary Pokhrel further informed that the meeting nominated 17 central committee members as well.

The newly nominated central committee members include:

  • Subas Karmacharya (Sindhupalchok)
  • Kundan Kushwaha (Rautahat)
  • Jitendra Dev (Saptari)
  • Rampreet Paswan (Siraha)
  • Krishnabhakta Pokharel (Chitwan)
  • Kamalkrishna Timilsina (Achham)
  • Gobinda Pun (Salyan)
  • Kedar Sigdel (Tanahun)
  • Manmohan Paudel (Parbat)
  • Hardev Joshi (Darchula)
  • Hari Upreti (Sarlahi)
  • Indra Bhandari (Jhapa)
  • Mahesh Bartaula (Makwanpur)
  • Sarita Bhusal
  • Prabha Baral (Kaski)
  • Manju Sharma Chalise (Baglung)
  • Asha Javegu (Panchthar)

The meeting also reshuffled the responsibilities of provincial in-charges. According to General Secretary Pokhrel, the new provincial in-charges are as follows:

  • Sherdhan Rai for Koshi Province
  • Leelanath Shrestha for Madhes Province
  • Dr. Rajan Bhattarai for Bagmati Province
  • Kiran Gurung for Gandaki Province
  • Padma Aryal for Lumbini Province
  • Gorakh Bahadur Bogati for Karnali Province
  • Lekhnath Bhatt for Sudurpaschim Province

These decisions reflect the party’s efforts to strengthen its organizational structure and leadership across various regions.
