CPN (Unified Socialist) Finalizes Candidates for Upcoming By-Elections
CPN (Unified Socialist) has recently announced its candidates for the upcoming by-elections slated for April 27. The party has confirmed Jeet Bahadur Rai as its candidate for the Ilam-2 House of Representatives constituency and Dil Bahadur Singh for the Bajhang-1(a) provincial assembly constituency.
Jeet Bahadur Rai previously served as the chairman of Mai Jogmai Rural Municipality in Ilam and is now vying for the parliamentary seat after losing in the 2022 local elections. Meanwhile, Dil Bahadur Singh, chairman of Unified Socialist Bajhang chapter, has been nominated for the provincial assembly seat.
The Ilam-2 constituency became vacant following the demise of UML Vice-chairman Subash Nembang in September 2023, while the Bajhang-1(a) provincial assembly seat was left vacant after the unfortunate passing of Nepali Congress lawmaker Prithvi Bahadur Singh in an accident.
These nominations set the stage for a competitive by-election as various parties gear up for the electoral contest.
