Cricketers to Earn Up to 1 Lakh Monthly!
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has unveiled a new monthly salary scheme for players, aimed at enhancing their dedication and performance. The announcement came during the recent board meeting of the central working committee held from the 12th to the 14th of Falgun.
Under the new scheme, six players in the A grade of the central contract, including the esteemed captain Rohit Kumar Paudel, will receive a monthly salary of Rs 1 lakh. This initiative marks a pivotal step towards recognizing and rewarding players’ contributions to the sport.
The allocation of monthly salaries extends across different grades within both the men’s and women’s categories. In the men’s category, A grade players will receive Rs 1 lakh, followed by Rs 70,000 for B grade, Rs 55,000 for C grade, Rs 35,000 for D grade, and Rs 25,000 for the emerging category. Similarly, female players in the A grade will be granted Rs 50,000 monthly, with Rs 35,000 for B grade, Rs 30,000 for C grade, Rs 25,000 for D grade, and Rs 20,000 for the emerging category.
CAN’s commitment to fostering talent and providing financial support is evident through the allocation of contracts to 30 men and 19 women players. This move not only encourages players to strive for excellence but also reflects CAN’s dedication to promoting gender equality and inclusivity in Nepalese cricket.
