Curfew Order Suspended in Tinkune Area

The Kathmandu District Administration Office has lifted the curfew order imposed in the Tinkune area following Friday’s pro-monarchy demonstrations. The restriction, which was enforced under Section 6(a) of the Local Administration Act, 2028 BS, has been withdrawn effective from 7:00 AM today, according to Kathmandu Chief District Officer Rishiram Tiwari.

The curfew was initially imposed in response to violent clashes and vandalism that erupted during the protests. It covered multiple areas, including Old Baneshwor to Tinkune, Gaushala to the airport, Gairigaun, Koteshwor to Jadibuti Bridge, Koteshwor to Balkumari Bridge, Baneshwor Chowk to Shankhamul Bridge, and Gaushala Chowk to Naya Baneshwor.

Authorities lifted the restrictions following an assessment of the security situation, though they continue to monitor developments closely to prevent further unrest.
