Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Poudel has called on international investors to explore Nepal’s burgeoning information technology (IT) sector, emphasizing its immense potential for high returns. Speaking at an interaction program organized by the American Chamber of Commerce and Industries today, Minister Poudel urged global investors to invest confidently in Nepal’s IT sector, as well as in its physical infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, and energy sectors.
“There are immense opportunities for investment in Nepal, and those who invest can expect significant benefits,” Poudel stated, assuring investors of a conducive environment for their ventures in the country.
Chandra Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the substantial opportunities in Nepal’s hydropower and tourism sectors. Dhakal invited American investors to tap into these sectors, which have shown strong growth potential.
Representatives from multinational companies, including Google, Meta, and Coca-Cola, were present at the event, further signaling the growing interest of international corporations in Nepal’s expanding markets.
The program underscored the importance of foreign investment in driving economic growth and technological advancement in Nepal.
