Deuba Highlights Bharatpur’s Potential as Tourism Destination
In the inaugural session of Visit Bharatpur Year 2024, held at Narayani River Bank in Chitwan today, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba underscored the imperative need for collaboration between the government and private sector to propel the development of Nepal’s tourism sector.
Highlighting the significance of cooperation among all sectors for tourism promotion, Deuba emphasized that the country’s three-pillar economic policy necessitates a unified effort towards tourism development. He expressed optimism that the ongoing activities in the tourism sector, which were severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, would contribute to its revival.
Deuba, a former Prime Minister, stressed the economic benefits of Bharatpur Visit Year, asserting that it would not only boost tourism but also enhance the country’s economic landscape through increased tourist inflow and heightened publicity both nationally and internationally. He assured that the incumbent government is committed to executing activities aimed at promoting tourism.
Identifying Bharatpur as a premier tourism destination in Nepal, Deuba lauded the city’s infrastructure readiness for tourism development. He highlighted Bharatpur Metropolitan City’s pivotal role as a major economic center, attributing its prominence to factors such as biodiversity, eco-tourism, health, agriculture, and overall tourism development.
