Deuba Optimistic About Mahasamiti Meeting Strengthening NC Unity
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed confidence that the ongoing Mahasamiti meeting of the party will bolster its strength and unity.
Addressing the gathering at the commencement of the Mahasamiti meeting in Godavari, Lalitpur, today, Deuba emphasized the significant anticipation surrounding the event, both domestically and internationally, with hopes for enhancing the coherence and vigor of the Congress party.
Deuba highlighted the agenda of the Mahasamiti meeting, emphasizing its focus on discussing the party’s policy matters and formulating a comprehensive document incorporating inputs from the participants. He underscored the party’s enduring commitment to the struggle for democracy, citing its historical role in advocating for democratic principles and resolving national crises.
“The Congress has consistently championed the cause of democracy, leading the nation through turbulent times and earning recognition both nationally and internationally,” stated Deuba.
As a former prime minister, Deuba stressed the paramount importance of safeguarding and effectively implementing the Constitution in the current context. He clarified the rationale behind the formation of the coalition government, asserting that it aimed not only at governance but also at averting potential threats to constitutional stability.
“The Congress prioritizes dialogue, understanding, and cooperation, recognizing the natural competition among political parties,” Deuba affirmed.
The Mahasamiti meeting serves as a crucial platform for the Nepali Congress to reaffirm its commitment to democratic values, strategize its future course of action, and foster internal cohesion in the pursuit of national progress and stability.
