Development gains pace with government in full shape: PM Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the government would address all problems facing the country and people.

Addressing a programme organized by Reporters’ Club on Friday, PM Dahal viewed, “I’m leading the government for good governance, social justice and prosperity. Government has got full shape which will help intensify development works.”

PM Dahal said country was facing hard times in economic front. However, there is some improvement in it. He reminded that he had directed all subordinates to lessen economic stress and minimize hassles to the people.

The revenue collection will be improved, and foreign currency reserve upped, PM Dahal said, adding that frequent meetings were held with officials of Finance Ministry and Nepal Rastra Bank Governor on resolving problems in economic sector.

Although the country has various problems, cooperation and collaboration will help address these. All sides’ cooperation is essential to wipe out problems, he believed. “We’re moving ahead with new political initiative,” he vowed.

PM Dahal lauded the role of Nepali journalism, saying that it had contributed to political changes in the country. Media can help in the efforts to maintain good governance and justice, he hoped.

Also speaking on the occasion, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire said he would take initiative to formulate laws friendly to journalists’ rights.

Media has a tremendous role in a nation, he said, showing commitment to freedom of expression.
