Dissatisfaction Rises Within RSP Over Government Participation
In a recent development, dissatisfaction has surfaced within the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) concerning its decision to enter the government without prior discussion within the party ranks.
During the central committee meeting held on Monday, joint-spokesperson Manish Jha disclosed that certain members expressed grievances regarding the lack of internal deliberation preceding the RSP’s choice to participate in the government.
Jha conveyed that while some central members had signaled their inclination for governmental involvement, they emphasized the importance of formal discussion and consensus-building within the party.
“In politics, complete satisfaction and acceptance are rare. We perceive minor dissatisfaction as a channel for constructive feedback,” Jha stated, underscoring the significance of comprehensive discussions before crucial decisions.
Responding to the discontent, Deputy President Swarnim Wagle defended the decision, asserting that the RSP leadership meticulously evaluated the prospect of joining the government. He provided central members with a comprehensive rationale behind the party’s decision.
General Secretary Mukul Dhakal clarified that the fast-paced nature of political developments had impeded thorough internal discussions regarding government participation.
Central member Ganesh Parajuli highlighted the evolving role of the RSP, noting, “Yesterday, when we were in the opposition, we questioned the ruling party. Now, our role has transitioned to providing answers.”
