DP Aryal Appointed Acting President of Rastriya Swatantra Party Following Lamichhane’s Arrest

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has appointed Vice President DP Aryal as Acting President following the arrest of party chief Rabi Lamichhane on Friday evening.

Lamichhane was taken into custody from his residence in Hattigauda, Budanilakantha, shortly after the Butwal bench of the Tulsipur High Court ordered his detention in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities related to cooperatives.

In response, the party’s central secretariat convened a meeting and resolved to comply with the court’s decision, emphasizing its commitment to seek justice through constitutional and legal means.

The secretariat also instructed that Saturday’s scheduled mass meeting in Bharatpur, Chitwan, proceed peacefully and with decorum.
