DPM Prakash Man Singh and Indian Minister Khattar Discuss Urban Development Cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh held a bilateral meeting with Indian Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, at the Ministry of Urban Development in Singha Durbar on Tuesday.

According to Urban Development Secretary Gopal Prasad Sigdel, the two ministers exchanged views on enhancing cooperation and sharing experiences in the field of urban development. Discussions focused on urban transport management, waste management, and other areas where India has recently made significant progress.

“Minister Khattar, who also oversees India’s urban development portfolio, shared India’s achievements in this sector and expressed readiness to collaborate with Nepal in exchanging technical know-how and practical experiences,” said Secretary Sigdel. “Our Minister of Urban Development welcomed the proposals positively, and both sides expressed commitment to deeper collaboration.”

Sigdel also noted that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been prepared between the two countries to formalize the exchange of knowledge and support in urban development. The MoU is expected to be signed at an appropriate time.
