Dr. Raamesh Koirala Contemplates Resignation Citing Political Interference
In a surprising turn of events, Dr. Raamesh Koirala, a prominent cardiologist at Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre, has expressed his reluctance towards continuing his government service and hinted at the possibility of resigning. Dr. Koirala took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday night to convey his sentiments, revealing that his decision was influenced by what he perceives as political interference in the institution’s operations.
Dr. Koirala stated, “I have reached the position of resignation unwillingly,” indicating a sense of frustration and dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs. He went on to express his gratitude, in a satirical manner, towards Arju Rana Deuba, the wife of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and a central member.
In a somewhat cryptic message, Dr. Koirala wrote, “Sorry Gangalal, and thank you sister-in-law, Jay Nepal.” The use of the term “sister-in-law” is noteworthy, as lately, Arju Rana Deuba has been recognized by this title in Nepali politics.
The cardiologist further revealed that he had communicated his decision to resign to both Congress General Secretary and raised concerns about the alleged political interference in his work.
The news has raised eyebrows in the medical and political circles, with many questioning the implications of losing a skilled and experienced cardiologist from the Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre. As the story develops, stakeholders await further clarification on the nature of political interference and its impact on healthcare services at the esteemed institution.
