Dr. Rajaram Karki Succumbs to Cancer; Nepali Congress Pays Tribute

Nepali Congress leader Dr. Rajaram Karki, aged 66, has passed away on Wednesday. He had been fighting cancer for a long time and sadly lost his battle at Bir Hospital on Wednesday evening.

Dr. Karki, a former central member of the party and a former member of the Bagmati Province Assembly, hailed from Neelkantha municipality in Dhading. He leaves behind two spouses, four sons, and a daughter.

Nepali Congress Central President Sher Bahadur Deuba expressed his sorrow upon hearing the news of Dr. Karki’s untimely demise. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and wished for eternal peace for the departed soul.

As a tribute, President Deuba draped the late Karki’s body with the party flag during a condolence assembly. Many prominent figures from the party, including Vice-President and Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung, General-Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwo Prakash Sharna, Foreign Minister NP Saud, and other leaders, gathered to pay their respects.

The body of Dr. Karki was placed at the NC party office in Sanepa from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM today, allowing people to bid their final farewells. His last rites will be conducted at Pashupati Aryaghat later today.
