Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma Assumes Role as Nepal’s Ambassador to India
Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma, the newly appointed Ambassador of Nepal to India, arrived in New Delhi today and officially assumed his duties at the Embassy of Nepal.
Dr. Sharma’s appointment was formally confirmed by President Ram Chandra Paudel, in accordance with Article 282, Clause 1 of the Constitution of Nepal. The decision followed the Indian government’s agrément approving his nomination earlier this month.
This marks Dr. Sharma’s return to a familiar diplomatic post, as he previously served as Nepal’s ambassador to India. His reappointment signals a strategic move to strengthen the historically significant Nepal-India relationship, emphasizing collaboration in trade, investment, cultural exchanges, and regional connectivity.
Dr. Sharma is expected to prioritize fostering mutual cooperation and addressing shared challenges, further enhancing bilateral ties during his tenure in New Delhi.
