Earthquake Jolts Bajhang District

A mild earthquake with its epicenter at Rayal in Bajhang district shook the region at 11:02 am today, the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre has reported. The tremor registered a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter scale.

Earlier, on November 21, another earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded with its epicenter near the Annapurna area, along the border of Kaski and Manang districts.

The Centre highlighted Nepal’s heightened vulnerability to seismic activity, as the country lies within the geologically active Himalayan region. Experts have noted frequent tremors as a reminder of the seismic risks in the area.
