EC Set to Publish Definitive Voter List for NA Election Today

The Election Commission (EC) is poised to reveal the final list of voters today for the upcoming January 25 National Assembly (NA) election, aiming to elect 19 members to represent the nation.

After the provisional list was initially released on January 5, the Election Commission allowed a window for rectifying claims, addressing objections, and correcting potential errors in the voter list, which concluded yesterday. The finalized voter list will be accessible on the Commission’s official website and at the election officer’s office.

Nomination registration for prospective candidates is scheduled for tomorrow, between 10 am to 3 pm. Any complaints against candidates can be filed on January 9.

Following the scrutiny of nomination papers and handling of candidate complaints on January 11, the official list of candidates will be published. Candidates will have until January 12 to withdraw their candidature, and the final candidate list is slated for publication at 2 pm on the same day.

As per the EC’s election schedule, election symbols will be allocated on January 13, adding a visual element to the candidates and their campaigns.
