Eight Crore Rupees for Conducting By-Elections
According to the Election Commission, approximately eight crore rupees will be spent to conduct the upcoming by-elections.
The commission has estimated that a budget of eight crore rupees is necessary for various aspects such as polling station management, voting procedures, ballot box collection, vote counting, and ensuring security.
On Wednesday, the Commission held discussions with Finance Secretary Krishna Hari Pushkar regarding the expenses related to the by-elections.
Secretary Pushkar highlighted the Ministry of Finance’s shortage of budget and expressed concerns about resource management.
The by-elections are scheduled to take place in constituency no. 2 of Ilam and for the Provincial Assembly member (A) in Bajhang district on April 27.
The vacancy in the House of Representatives arose due to the passing of Subash Chandra Nembang, while the Provincial Assembly member seat became vacant following the demise of Provincial Assembly member Prithivi Bahadur Singh.
