Election update: UML leading in proportional representation
The CPN UML is leading in the ongoing vote count of the proportional representation system.
The Election Commission shared that the UML garnered 113,436 votes as per the update till 5:30 pm on Tuesday. Nepali Congress is trailing with 97,082 votes. Rastriya Swatantra Party is in third place in the vote tally with 49,029 votes.
Similarly, CPN (Maoist Centre) got 41,823 votes, Rastriya Prajatantra Party 27,821 votes, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal 9,019 votes, Janamat Party 8,484 and Nagarik Unmukti Party 6,059 votes.
Likewise, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party secured 5,671 and CPN (Unified Socialist) 5,403 votes.
Province-wise, UML is ahead in Province no 1 with 29,750 votes while Nepali Congress is leading in the Madhesh Province with 5,600 votes as well as in the Bagmati Province with 15,921 votes.
UML stands atop in Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province with 22,070 and 32,048 respectively.
In Karnali Province, CPN (Maoist Centre) is leading with 343 votes whereas the information on the vote count under the PR system in Sudurpaschim Province is yet to be entered into the information system of the Commission.
