Emir of Qatar Honored with Guard of Honour During Grand Welcome in Nepal
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, was honored with a guard of honour as he touched down in Nepal, marking a significant high-level visit from the Gulf nation. Upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, President Ramchandra Paudel personally welcomed the Emir, with the ceremonial honor provided by a Nepal Army contingent.
The capital city, Kathmandu, displayed festive decorations with welcome gates and banners along major streets and junctions, celebrating the presence of the esteemed Qatari dignitary.
During his stay, the Emir is set to meet President Paudel at the President’s Office and will later attend a state banquet at Hotel Soaltee, hosted by the President. His itinerary also includes crucial bilateral talks with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. These discussions are anticipated to culminate in the signing of several important bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This landmark visit highlights the deep ties between Nepal and Qatar, where approximately 400,000 Nepali migrant workers reside.
