Ending Corruption: Top Priority for Nepali Congress, Says VP Khadka
Nepali Congress Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka has stated that the primary focus of the Nepali Congress will be to eradicate corruption and establish good governance.
Presenting the party’s political agenda at the Mahasamiti meeting on Tuesday, Deputy President Khadka announced that the Congress would prioritize the formulation of policies promoting good governance and morality, the enactment of robust anti-corruption laws, and their effective enforcement.
He emphasized that misgovernance and corruption are the primary drivers of inequality in society, stressing that social development, good governance, and corruption eradication are interconnected.
Khadka asserted that the Congress is firmly committed to a zero-tolerance stance on corruption and pledges transparency in all its activities.
He acknowledged certain positive strides taken by the current government towards good governance, viewing them as encouraging signs.
The Deputy President stressed the need for concerted efforts towards good governance and anti-corruption measures, affirming the Congress’s dedication to this cause.
Furthermore, Khadka clarified that the Nepali Congress is open to constitutional amendments as necessary, provided they do not compromise the constitution’s fundamental structure.
He also declared that the Congress would assume a leading role in any required constitutional amendments.
