Entrepreneur Durga Prasai Arrested for Alleged Violation of Electronic Transaction Act

Entrepreneur Durga Prasai has been arrested by the Nepal Police on charges of violating the Electronic Transaction Act (ETA) of 2008. A team from the Cyber Bureau of the Nepal Police apprehended Prasai in Bhaktapur, according to Bureau Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police, Deepak Raj Awasthi.
The arrest follows a complaint filed against Prasai under the provisions of the Electronic Transaction Act, which governs the use of electronic communication and digital transactions in Nepal. After receiving the complaint, the Bureau sought and obtained permission from the Kathmandu District Court to carry out the arrest.
Further details regarding the nature of the violation and the legal proceedings are yet to be disclosed by the authorities.
