Final Rites of Prakriti Lamsal Performed in Bhairahawa

The final rites of Prakriti Lamsal, who was found dead at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, India, were performed at Swargadwari Ghat in Bhairahawa.

Her body was taken to the funeral site after being carried in a procession around Bhairahawa. Several Nepali students from KIIT, originally from Siddharthanagar, joined the funeral to pay their respects. Her grandfather, Devnath Lamsal, performed the final rites by lighting the funeral pyre.

Lamsal’s body was brought back from Odisha on Wednesday. Born in Bhairahawa on Asar 4, 2061 BS, she was found hanging in her hostel room on February 16.
