Finance Minister points out contribution of public colleges

Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has pointed out the contribution of public colleges in the education sector.

Addressing the 33rd anniversary of the Public Youth Campus, the minister said, “With the increasing importance of public colleges, their number has surged across the country.”

Recognising their contribution, the minister said the government would provide subsidies to the needy public campuses to manage funds. Stating that public campuses, the Tribhuvan University and private colleges have had a big challenge to attract students, and this is due to the tendency of students to go to foreign countries for higher education, he called for reversing this tendency.
