
Finance Minister Poudel Encourages Increased Japanese Investment in Nepal


Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has urged Japanese business companies to invest in Nepal’s priority development sectors, highlighting the country’s favorable investment environment.
During a courtesy meeting with representatives of various Japanese companies attending the Nepal-Japan Friendship Summit 2025 in Kathmandu, Minister Poudel emphasized the immense potential for Japanese investment in key sectors such as hydropower, tourism, and manufacturing. He expressed confidence that the summit would convey a positive message about Nepal’s investment climate and motivate Japanese investors to explore new opportunities.
He informed the delegation that the government has taken significant steps to address private sector concerns by amending various laws through ordinances, making the investment environment more conducive.
The Japanese delegation included representatives from over a dozen prominent companies, including Fujita, Benesse Corporation, Digital Pilot, Tokio Marine, and Forth Valley.
The Nepal-Japan Friendship Summit 2025 officially began in Kathmandu on Thursday, serving as a platform to strengthen bilateral trade and investment relations between the two countries.
