First Parliament session after PM Prachanda’s appointment begins

The first session of the House of Representatives (HoR) after the November 20 elections and after the appointment of Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ as new Prime Minister, has begun.
According to a constitutional provision, the session of the House should start within 30 days of the announcement of the final results of the election.
The first meeting was chaired by the senior-most member of the House Pashupati Shamsher JB Rana.
As per the call of President Bidya Devi Bhandari, the meeting of both Houses started at 1 pm today. Top leaders of political parties in the parliament are scheduled to address the session.
