Five Dead Reported as Missing Helicopter Found in Crashed State
The missing helicopter of Manang Air, which disappeared on Tuesday morning, has been discovered in a crashed state.
The ill-fated helicopter was en route from Surke in Solukhumbu to Kathmandu when it lost contact with air traffic control near Lamzura in Solukhumbu.
Upon reaching the accident site, police confirmed that the helicopter had indeed crashed in the Lamjurapas area. The search and rescue teams, led by the police, have reported the recovery of five bodies, which have not yet been identified.
The authorities have further confirmed that the ill-fated helicopter was carrying a total of six individuals, including the Nepalese captain and five passengers. Heartbreakingly, all the passengers on board were Mexican citizens.
The helicopter, identified by its call sign 9NA-MV, lost contact with air traffic control at 10:01 am.
In a race against time to aid any possible survivors, a helicopter from Altitude Air has also arrived at the accident site. Equipped with rescue workers, it aims to provide immediate assistance and aid in the ongoing search and rescue efforts.
