Five killed and nine injured in road accident
Five people have been killed while nine others were injured when a vehicle carrying members of a marriage procession met with an accident in Dhanusha this morning.
The accident involving the vehicle (Ba. 1 Ja. 8293) took place at Birendra Bazaar on the East-West Highway at 4:30 this morning, said Superintendent of Police Dhanusha Basant Rajoure. The vehicle was carrying people who had attended a marriage function from Itahari of Pipara Rural Municipality of Mahottari.
Among the dead are three women, one child and one man. The deceased has been identified as 11-year-old child S. Kumar of Pipara Rural Municipality, 35-year-old Rubi Kumari Shah of Mukhiyapatti Musaharaniya Tulsiyahi of Dhanusha, 17-year-old Manju Kumari Shah and her sister 13-year-old Srijana Shaha of Sahasaula in Ramgopalpur-7, Mahottari and the vehicle driver Abdul Mansuri,24, of Dhanauji rural municipality in Dhanusa district, police said.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Provincial Hospital, Janakpurdham.
