Flights affected due to unfavourable weather
Domestic flights have been generally affected due to the incessant rainfall, the Tribhuvan International Airport Office said.
The flights were affected due to low visibility.
TIA General Manager Pratap Babu Tiwari said the domestic flights have been suspended due to unfavourable weather. He added that although the domestic flights were affected, the international flights have operated regularly.
The airlines companies have said domestic flights to several destinations have been cancelled today.
Buddha Air’s information officer Dipendra Kumar Karna said their two flights to Surkhet and one to Tumlingtar have been cancelled.
Similarly, all flights from Pokhara to Bharatpur and Pokhara-Nepalgunj route have been cancelled. Although the Kathmandu-Pokhara flight has been generally affected, it was resumed later in the afternoon.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast rainfall for the next three days. Light to moderate rainfall is talking place in most places of the country including in Kathmandu Valley today.
