FNJ Urges Parliament to Withdraw Press Pass Suspension

The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has expressed concern over the suspension of press passes for two journalists—Kishor Shrestha and Prakash Oli—by the Federal Parliament Secretariat. The journalists were barred from entering parliament for allegedly violating norms while questioning the Prime Minister on March 4.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday, FNJ urged the Secretariat to respect press freedom by withdrawing its decision. The FNJ emphasized that the Press Council Nepal holds the authority to judge breaches of the journalist code of conduct. It also reminded journalists to adhere to professional ethics while carrying out their duties.
The duo was suspended after posing queries to the Prime Minister as he exited the House of Representatives meeting.
