Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba Meets UN Under-Secretary-General Atul Khare in New York
Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, who is currently in New York attending the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), met with Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Department of Operational Support, Atul Khare, on Monday.
The meeting, held at the Nepali Mission in New York, focused on various aspects of the longstanding cooperation between Nepal and the UN. Discussions centered around Nepal’s contributions to UN peacekeeping missions and the future of this collaboration, particularly in the management of security personnel deployed by the UN.
According to the Nepali Mission, both sides reiterated their commitment to continued cooperation in the fields of peace and security, acknowledging Nepal’s significant role in global peacekeeping efforts under the UN’s framework. The Department of Operational Support plays a critical role in managing UN personnel for peacekeeping operations worldwide.
