Foreign Minister Saud to Depart for Finland Tonight: UN LDC Future Forum Awaits
Minister for Foreign Affairs NP Saud is set to depart for Helsinki, Finland, on Sunday night to participate in the Second UN LDC Future Forum, scheduled for March 5-6, as reported by the Foreign Ministry.
Minister Saud, serving as the chair of the Global Coordination Bureau of the Group of Least Developed Countries, is slated to deliver the opening address during the forum’s inauguration on Tuesday. Additionally, he will participate in a ministerial dialogue themed ‘Strategies to accelerate innovation and structural transformation’ as a distinguished panelist, as outlined by the Foreign Ministry statement.
Organized by the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States (OHRLLS) in collaboration with the Finnish government, the forum’s overarching theme revolves around ‘Innovation for Structural Transformation in LDCs’. The initiative aims to delve into innovative approaches, digitalization, and technology adoption to propel structural changes and sustainable development within Least Developed Countries.
During his visit, Minister Saud will also engage in bilateral discussions, including meetings with his Finnish counterpart, Elina Valtonen, among other key stakeholders. Minister Saud is expected to return home on March 8, following his participation in the forum and related diplomatic engagements.
