Foreign Minister Shrestha Leaving for China Today
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha is set to depart for an official visit to the People’s Republic of China on Sunday, March 24, 2024. The visit comes at the invitation of Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Foreign Minister of China.
Minister Shrestha’s secretariat has confirmed his departure for China tonight at 11 PM, marking the commencement of a nine-day diplomatic mission aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between Nepal and China.
During his stay in China, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha is scheduled to engage in crucial discussions with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, on March 26. The talks are expected to encompass a wide range of bilateral issues, further cementing the relationship between the two neighboring nations.
Moreover, DPM Shrestha will seize the opportunity to meet with high-level dignitaries across various provinces, including Beijing, fostering deeper understanding and collaboration between Nepal and China.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement highlighting the significance of this visit in enhancing diplomatic relations and cooperation between Nepal and China.
