Former Deputy Prime Minister Rabi Lamichhane to Appear Before Kaski District Court Today on Embezzlement Charges

Former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Rabi Lamichhane, is set to appear before the Kaski District Court today. He is currently in police custody under investigation for the alleged misappropriation of funds from Sooryadarshan Savings and Credit Cooperatives Limited.

Lamichhane, who is also the president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, was arrested in Kathmandu last Friday on charges of embezzlement and organized crime. He was swiftly transported to Pokhara the same night and has since been held at the District Police Office in Kaski.

According to District Police Office spokesperson Basant Kumar Sharma, Lamichhane will be formally presented before the court later today.
