Former Home Minister Khand’s statement not finished, will be taken tomorrow

The District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Kathmandu will take a statement tomorrow from former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, who was recently arrested on charges of being involved in a fraud case of sending Nepali citizens as fake Bhutanese refugees to America.

The statement that was scheduled to be taken today was not completed, and therefore, it will be taken again tomorrow. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has also asked the police to prepare a file by tomorrow after investigating the case.

The former Home Minister is one of the main suspects in the case, which has been under investigation by the District Police Complex Kathmandu. The investigation has been ongoing for weeks, and several other high-profile individuals have been implicated in the case.

Former Deputy Prime Minister and CPN-UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Tek Narayan Pandey, who was a secretary in the ministry when Khand was Home Minister, and Indrajit Rai, former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal’s security adviser, are also being investigated in connection with the case.

Yesterday, the District Court allowed the police to detain Balkrishna Khan for four more days. The decision was made after the police requested more time to complete their investigation.
