Former Home Minister Lamichhane to hold “special press conference” today
Former Deputy Prime Minister, Home Minister and present Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane is holding a special press conference today.
Through his social media earlier today he announced that he is going to hold a special press conference after after the meeting of his party later today.
In his social media, he wrote, “The party meeting will take a concrete decision today . After that, I am holding a special press conference from the party office. I want everyone in the whole country and abroad to watch and listen to today’s press conference. It has been a long time since I’ve done a straight talk.”
Even though Lamichhane has been insisting that he should get the post of the Home Minister, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is saying that it will not send a good message to return Lamichhane to his old responsibility as soon as he is relieved of the post as he is involved in serious issues related to citizenship and passport.
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), a major partner in the ruling coalition, has threatened that it would withdraw its support to the government if it did not get the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, who had tendered resignation from the post after the Supreme Court found him guilty in the citizenship case, re-acquired citizenship again and is asking for the same post with Prime Minister.
