Four complaints filed against Rabi Lamichhane’s candidacy
Four complaints have been filed against Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane in Chitwan.
The complaints have been filed at the office of the chief election officer in Chitwan against RSP Chair, who filed his candidacy in Chitwan-2 to contest a by-election scheduled for April 23.
Three complaints were filed at the office by the candidates who filed their nomination in Chitwan-2 and their representatives on Tuesday.
Another complaint was filed through e-mail from Kathmandu.
It is said that Yuvaraj Paudel, who hails from Sindhuli and is currently living in Kathmandu-31, has sent his complaint by email.
The complainants seek to cancel Lamichhane’s candidacy in Chitwan-2 claiming that one cannot contest the election before three months of acquiring a citizenship certificate by quitting citizenship of a foreign country.
Lamichhane reacquired Nepali citizenship from the District Administration Office, Kathmandu on January 29.
