France dispatches Poland to secure place for quarter-final in World Cup
The defending champion France has dispatched Poland 3-1 to reach to the quarter-final in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In the match played at Al Thumama Stadium of Qatar last night, France edged Poland 3-1 to make it to the group of eight. With the win, France has become the third team to reach to the quarter-final.
Earlier, the Netherlands and Argentina reached the quarter-final. The Netherlands beat America 3-1 and Argentina thrashed Australia 2-1 to secure their place for the group of eight.
France netted one goal in the first half and two goals in the second half. French striker Olivier Giroud scored the first goal in the first half of the match. Kylian Mbappe added two more goals to ensure the win for France.
In the second half of the match, Poland scored a consolation penalty to conclude the tournament 3-1. Robert Lewandowski scored the goal on the second attempt in the last minute of the tournament.
