French Ambassador Expresses Solidarity with Nepal Amid Disasters
At a reception marking the Nepal-France educational partnership on Saturday, French Ambassador to Nepal, Virginie Corteval, expressed deep grief over the lives and property lost in the recent floods and landslides in Nepal. She conveyed the heartfelt empathy of the French government and people to Nepal during this time of crisis.
Switching focus, Ambassador Corteval highlighted the significance of the “Choose France Tour Nepal 2024” higher education fair, underscoring its role in strengthening Nepal-France ties through educational exchanges. The event, held at the Alliance Française, provided Nepali students opportunities to explore advanced studies in France. Representatives from 17 French universities offered guidance on scholarships, programs, and visa applications. Ambassador Corteval emphasized that these scholarships would greatly benefit Nepali students, fostering a deeper academic connection between the two nations.
The fair, part of France’s “Choose France” initiative, presented a platform for students to learn about study programs in management, engineering, humanities, and the arts, promoting long-term educational collaboration.
