General Convention of Unified Socialists Starts; UML Declines Inaugural Presence

The 10th General Convention of the CPN (Unified Socialist) party commenced today at the Nepal Pragya Pratishthan auditorium in Kamaladi, Kathmandu.

Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of the party, inaugurated the convention.

Notable political figures including Prime Minister and CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane, Janata Samajwadi Party Chairman Ashok Rai, Janamat Party Chairman CK Raut, Rashtriya Jana Morcha Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC, and Nepal Communist Party General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ were present at the event.

However, CPN-UML, a key political entity, did not send any representatives to participate in the convention, marking a notable absence. The convention aims to elect new leadership and set the agenda for the party’s future course.
