
Goraksha Mahayagya to commence on May 5


Goraksha Mahayagya, a religious event aims to protect street cattle is to be organised at Kageshwori Manohara municipality-8 from May 5. The objective of the weeklong event is to collect funds for the cause of stray cows, event coordinator Uttam Pudasaini said.
Pundit Dinbandhu Pokhrel will recite mythical stories during the Mahayagya which according to organisers is the first of its kind meant for the conservation of stray cows.
Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav is scheduled to inaugurate the event to be held under the Stray Cows Protection Campaign that has been implemented since May 15, 2018. It is said the local government has managed an ambulance for street cattle.
