Government Appoints New Members to National Planning Commission
The government has announced the appointment of Sangita Singh, Kushendra Bahadur Mahat, Shiva Raj Adhikari, and Arnico Kumar Panday as members of the esteemed National Planning Commission. The decision was made during a Council of Ministers meeting held on Thursday, as confirmed by Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, who serves as the government’s spokesperson.
Among the newly appointed members, Shiva Raj Adhikari brings a wealth of experience as the chief of the Central Department of Economics at Tribhuvan University. Similarly, Arnico Kumar Panday, an accomplished atmospheric scientist, serves as a central member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, adding valuable expertise to the commission’s endeavors.
Additionally, the Cabinet meeting addressed other crucial matters, including the promotion of Chudamani Paudel to a vacant secretary position within a special category of the administrative service. Furthermore, in a gesture of goodwill and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations between Nepal and South Korea, the government decided to waive royalties for a joint expedition team from both nations.
